The blepharoplasty or eyelid tightening

The blepharoplasty makes it possible to remove at the same time the additional eyelids skin and muscle and to withdraw the grease bagginess in order to erase the signs of tiredness and to give more glares to the glance. This intervention gives an effect of renewing but it does not withdraw the lower ridules of the eyelid, which may require a complementary treatment. It attenuates the rings but does not have an effect on the pigmented aspect of the skin.

The glance is the most important element of the expression. In addition, it is around and on the eyelids that the first signs of ageing appear.

A cutaneous surplus on the higher eyelid level often saddens the glance. It can be more or less important according cases: from the simple fold to the covering bag weighing down the eyelid. A major surplus can in certain cases cut down the field of vision. With the age, the fabrics maintaining the grease which protects the ocular sphere, weaken and lets the grease cover the higher eyelid and especially of the lower one, forming hernias usually called bags. These bags give the glance a tired aspect.

The skin is very thin in that area so it is subject to a faster untightening and formation of fine ridules giving a ruffled aspect, especially as it is subject to ceaseless movements.

This intervention concerns women as much as men, it can be carried out exclusively or associated to a face lift.
